Damian Jurt is an art historian, author and since 2019 curator at the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur. Studied art, museology and critical studies in Geneva, New York and Zurich. In 2009 he was Curator of the Stadtgalerie Bern and realized exhibitions with Adrien Tirtiaux or Donatella Bernardi. From 2012 to 2014 research associate at the staff of the University of Art and Design Basel for the exhibition platform Curating the Campus and from 2008 to 2012 at the Institute of Fine Arts for the coordination of the master program Fine Arts. From 2014 to 2019 he was a research assistant at Kunsthaus Pasquart Biel / Bienne. In this capacity he curated exhibitions with Céline Condorelli, Kemang Wa Luhelere, Delphine Reist or Michael Sailstorfer. He was responsible for supervising the collection and its presentation and exhibited with works by Markus Raetz, Miriam Cahn, Marie José Burki, Vito Acconci or herman de vries. Jurt has published various publications, works as a commissioner and as a freelance curator has realized exhibitions or symposia at institutions such as the Kunsthalle Fridericianum Kassel, the Kunstmuseum Luzern, the Museum Bärengasse Zürich or the Nida Art Colony in Lithuania.
